Pastors and the moral issue of our age

“When you began reading this column, you probably said that you would bravely preach the truth if you knew that some in your church were prepared to choose slavery over freedom for their neighbors with black skin. So now, test the authenticity of that answer by answering this: Will you proclaim the truth about God’s love for the unborn and warn of the evil of abortion knowing that many churchgoers are poised to choose death over life for their neighbors in the womb?”

Even in the womb, Christ was both God and man

“Many gratefully reflect on Jesus’s willingness to be born among us while failing to realize that Jesus was fully God and fully human in the manger and in the womb. Birth did not transform Him. Indeed, the hands that Jesus used to bring a healing touch to a blind man and break five loaves of bread to feed thousands would have been the hands destroyed in an abortion had Mary obtained one.”

If we fully realize everyone is created equal, both racism and abortion will cease

“Today’s laws again fail to reflect the truth that we are all ‘created equal.’ ... Instead of skin color, our laws now look to a person’s location and development to determine their human value. Under this revised system, we treat humans in the womb as property that the powerful can either nurture or kill.”

With abortion supporters targeting Christians, pastors must share the truth

“Abortion proponents are trying to convince churchgoers that allowing the killing of unborn children is actually consistent with the Bible’s teachings…. [And] if church leaders are silent while others spread lies, countless children in the womb may be killed and many church congregants will be complicit in that bloodshed.”

Pastors, don’t miss this moment to save lives and make history

“The fact that abortion is hotly disputed in politics—making some avoid the topic as too ‘political’—demonstrates a need for pastors to clearly articulate the biblical truth that human lives are made ‘in the image of God’…. And the presence of women and men in the church experiencing guilt and heartbreak regarding past abortions calls for pastors to lovingly remind their congregations that the grace and forgiveness of God extends to the sin of abortion.”

A year after Roe’s fall, why do churches remain silent as abortions continue?

“The Great Commission’s call for us to go and ‘make disciples of all nations’ includes Jesus’s instruction that we teach people ‘to obey everything’ that He commanded us. Yet when those commands are controversial, church leaders have often steered clear. When it comes to abortion, the result has been churchgoers turning to the sin of killing their children.”

These preemies prove the Supreme Court’s ‘viability’ standard for abortion is wrong

“Does the Constitution really provide a right to kill unborn children who are even older than Curtis and Richard were at birth? Of course not. The Constitution is known for its protection of life and other human rights, and the most careful search of its text will not reveal any right to abortion—much less a right to elective abortion all the way through viability.”

Opposing abortion is truly loving and compassionate

“It was neither loving nor compassionate to stay silent rather than convey truth to rescue a baby from impending death and save a teen from a possible lifetime of regret. Rather, speaking for the voiceless and encouraging people to avoid destructive behavior is a wonderful way to show love and compassion.”

There is no middle road in Supreme Court's abortion case

“If the Court attempts a ‘compromise’ by narrowing—but still proclaiming—a ‘right’ to elective abortion, it will repeat Roe's abuse of power by legislating from the bench again. Indeed, creating a modified ‘right’ to elective abortion will be yet another imposition of unelected Justices' policy preferences rather than faithful interpretation of the Constitution as written.”
